Vice President of Programs

Scott Lauer directed national programs educating civic leaders on how to use design to solve problems in their communities. Programs included The Mayors’ Institute on City Design, National Mayors’ Summit, Sustainable Cities Design Academy, Great Schools by Design, City Design Leadership Forum, Association of Architecture Organizations, RM Hunt Fellowship, Architecture + Design Education Network, and Forum on Aging. In this role, he was responsible for operations, budget, partnerships and staff and:

• collaborated with mayors, schools, developers and thought-leaders in America’s largest cities.

• implemented changes to programs, scheduling, and reporting, and improved quality and efficiency.

• launched budget review and cost saving measures that resulted in over 15% savings.

• implemented team-building measures that improved communications and productivity.

• developed and secured funding to design and build a prototype classroom for Chicago Public Schools.
